Hi, I am from the UK but came to southern Chile for a three month volunteer job in the mountains. That was thirty years ago and 3 children, a couple of businesses and lots of adventures later I am still very happy to be here. I trained as a teacher in the UK but have mostly managed to avoid schools and have been involved in outdoor education and tourism both in the central Andes and here in Patagonia. I run a small adventure tourism company where we take a mix of scientists, students, volunteers and some actual tourists out to the glaciers, islands and forests around the northern Patagonian ice cap. Our family lives close to Coyhaique with some dogs, goats and sheep plus a beautiful view.
You are welcome to Chatterbug @Ian-farmer. We hope you enjoy tutoring and telling the students about your life in Patagonia!
Very funny introduction @Ian-farmer ! I didn’t expect the second sentence!
This adventure tourism sounds amazing, I’d love to be part of a tour someday!!
Hi Ian
Welcome to Chatterbug! Now we`re neighbors here too
Have fun teaching
I have a really good time tutoring German
Yep… not very close neighbors, but we know each other
Hi, Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to getting more familiar with the Chatterbug system and tutoring.
Never hesitate to ask whenever a question comes up
Hi Amandine, the 30 years was a surprise to me too! Tours are pretty much off at the moment but we live in hope!
Hey Betina, thanks and see you around - here or for real.
Opposite sides of the same town.
Hello, Ian Wow time flies! But what a beautiful place to stay and also how cool it is to transform your teacher background into outdoor education and tourism. Welcome and I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun
.
Thanks Sandra, Im looking forward to it,
Ian
Welcome, Ian! I can understand why you got hooked on Chile, it’s a beautiful place! I lived in Valparaíso for one year, though I didn’t get to explore the south as much as I would have liked. Maybe one day when we can travel more freely again I can come visit and take one of your tours! Until then, very happy to be working with you at Chatterbug.
