Hi everyone, nice to meet you!
My name is Isi, I’m 26 years old, originally from a small town in Bavaria and I’ve called Bali home for the past 6 years. Other than German, I speak English, some rusty French and Bahasa Indonesia (in progress).
When I was 19 I decided to do my first overseas trip by myself and ended up going to Indonesia, where I not only fell in love with the country but also with a man… you know the drill.
At that time remote work wasn’t such a big thing yet, so I had to figure out another way to finance myself abroad: Winter seasons in Switzerland! And that’s what I’ve done for four years. 4 months hard work in the Swiss mountains, 7-8 months island life with some small online jobs.
Long story short, my fist love didn’t last but my appreciation for the country, the food and especially the people did. Fast forward to 2019, I finally got a permanent remote job in marketing and haven’t left Bali since (due to covid too).
I love to spend my free time with surfing, coffee, our dogs, music, cooking, being creative and making friends with people from all over the world. My boyfriend and I have a big passion for animals and made it our mission to help as many street dogs as we can here in Bali.
I would love to support you on your language study journey and show you that it is indeed possible to learn German. It might be a complex and difficult language, however, once you notice your first progresses you will see what a beautiful and diverse language it is!
I’m really looking forward to meeting you!
Sunny greeting from the island
