Hello all!
I’m sure we’ve all had the experience of learning a bunch of vocabulary for an exam that we never thought we’d use again.
Personally, I know I have leaned and used a lot of German words in the last two months (while listening to and talking about the news) that I never would have imagined previously.
Please use this forum to teach us a word you have used recently that you have never used before or only learned recently.

Wir suchen Wörter, von denen wir niemals dachten, dass wir sie mal (auf Englisch) benutzen/brauchen würden? Super Idee!
Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass ich “global pandemic” so schnell außerhalb von einem spannenden Film benutzen würde … 
Ein neues Wort für mich ist auch “social distancing”, das hört man jetzt (auf Englisch!) die ganze Zeit in den Nachrichten.

I have to admit, I’m pretty sure the term “social distancing” didn’t even exist until 2020! I’d certainly never heard it!
Und ja, darum geht es! Der Grammatik hier ist etwas schwerig. Est hilft mir auch, die ubersetzung zu sehen! Danke!

Any ideas what these might mean?
“Nincompoop” is a word that I have used all my life, but only recently learnt how to spell! 
A nincompoop refers to someone who is acting silly or funny.
Eg. “Stop making so many funny noises, you nincompoop! People are staring!”
Collywobbles refers to general belly/stomach ache, but can also mean anxiety.
Eg. “Walking through the woods at night gives me the collywobbles!”
So to summarize, I do hope these words don’t give you the collywobbles. Don’t be a nincompoop and try them out!
