Me llamo Zoe y soy de los estados unidos, más precisamente de Boston, MA. Empecé a estudiar el español con 12 años y siempre fue mi materia favorita . En la preparatoria empecé también con el francés. En la universidad continué mis estudios en español, francés, y lengua de señas, porque Boston University tuvo un programa muy único y quería ampliar mis conocimientos de lenguas y lingüística.
Igual con Boston University tuve la oportunidad de estudiar tres veces en otros países (Argentina, España, y Francia) y hacer unas prácticas de enseñar inglés a estudiantes hispanohablantes. Sabía desde allí que quería ayudar a otra gente aprender idiomas en la manera más divertido y efectivo posible. Regresando a los E.U. me inscribí a una escuela de TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language) mientras que cumplí mi licenciatura.
Después de que conseguí mi licenciatura, me mudé a México (ya me había enamorado del país durante unas vacaciones), y di clases de Business English en una escuela de inglés que se llama United English. Tuve varios estudiantes de cada nivel, y esa experiencia me ayudó muchísimo en mejorar mis estrategias de enseñanza. Mientras que estaba en México, empecé a estudiar el alemán porque me fascinó el idioma y quería entender la música alemana de que estaba escuchando.
Ahorita ando aquí en alemania estudiando mi maestría en English Linguistics mientras que voy mejorando mi alemán. Espero usar mis experiencia no solo de maestra sino también de estudiante de varios idiomas para ayudarles en sus metas de aprender el inglés. ¡Ya sé que no es siempre tan fácil, pero sí se puede!
Hi there!
My name is Zoe and I’m from the United States, more specifically from Boston, MA. I started studying Spanish at 12 and it was always my favorite subject in school. In High School, I added French to the mix. Then, in University, I continued my studies of Spanish, French, and ASL (American Sign Language), because Boston University had a very unique program and I wanted to broaden my knowledge of languages and linguistics.
Also at Boston University, I had the opportunity to study three times in other countries (Argentina, Spain, and France) and do some internships teaching English to Spanish speakers. I knew from this point on that I wanted to help other people learn languages in the most fun and effective way possible. As I returned to the United States, I enrolled in a course to become a certified TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language) instructor as I finished my Bachelor’s degree.
After I graduated, I moved to Mexico (I had already fallen in love with the country during some vacations), and I was an English teacher at a school called United English in Querétaro. I taught many students of every level, and this experience helped me so much in improving my teaching strategies. While I was in Mexico, I also started to study German because the language was always very intriguing to me and I wanted to understand the German music I was listening to.
Now I am here in Germany studying my Master’s degree in English Linguistics while I continue to improve on my German. I hope to use my experiences not only as a teacher, but also as a student of many languages, to help you reach your goals of learning English, whatever they may be! I know it’s not always easy, but you can do it!
