German Grammar Explained
/
Present
Share this article with others:
The present tense is an example that German grammar can be quite simple sometimes.
Compare:
I
speak
three languages.
→
Ich
spreche
drei Sprachen.
I'
m speaking
with my mum.
→
Ich
spreche
mit meiner Mutter.
I'
ll speak
to you tomorrow.
→
Ich
spreche
morgen mit dir.
Easy. That's great news!
Not so fast. The verb
sprechen
is a bit irregular.
I knew it...
ich
spr
e
che
du
spr
i
chst
(!)
er/sie
spr
i
cht
(!)
That doesn't seem too bad.
It's not difficult. Since you don't have to think about the regular verbs much, the irregular ones will seem easier and easier to you over time!
I suppose practice makes perfect...?
Absolutely! You'll learn them quickly since we use these words all the time.
