Hello French learners !
Today I want to make you aware of a very important difference between two words that might look like synonyms.
Entendre means that your hearing is working and you are able to hear sounds and noises, whereas écouter implies a will.
You decide whether you want to écouter someone or not. When you écoute actively, you make an extra effort.
