There different ways to start sentences that something is nice: “Es freut mich”, “Ich freue mich” and “Ich bin froh”. As I understand, the differences is similar to “It is nice”, “I am glad”, “I am happy”. But I am not sure if we can always replace one with another. For example, here:
- Es freut mich, am Sonntag viel schlafen zu können.
- Ich freue mich, am Sonntag viel schlafen zu können.
- Ich bin froh, am Sonntag viel schlafen zu können.
Which one sounds natural and which one sounds strange? In what context would you use them?
