Yes, in part.
But also shows enumerations.
It’s a very common mistake to put a comma after expressions like “zum Beispiel”.
Wrong:
- Zum Beispiel, heute morgen habe ich Obst gefrühstückt.
Right:
- Zum Beispiel habe ich heute morgen Obst gefrühstückt.
