Myriam from Basel/Switzerland in Bali

Hello everybody

My name is Myriam, I am 30 years old and I have been living in Bali, Indonesia for 4 years. I am a designer and a yin yoga teacher. But I’m a surfer at heart and that’s what I like to do in my free time.

I am very open and interested to seek contact with all kind of people. In addition to German, I speak Swiss German, English, French and also a little Spanish. I am very happy to be here, to spend a good time with you and to introduce you to my mother tongue in a playful way. So don’t be shy and book a lesson with me if that sounds good to you.

A little more information about my hometown Basel-Stadt in Switzerland:

There, where Germany, France and Switzerland meet and the ships leave for the North Sea, is also the hub of the Swiss raw material supply. The Dreiländereck is a unique meeting point for three countries, languages and cultures.

If you want to understand why people in Basel are crazy about art, you should visit one of the 40 museums with spectacular collections and special exhibitions - this is unique in Switzerland and also top class in international comparison.

In summer the river Rhine promenade is everyone’s meeting point. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants as well as live music. you can also swim in the Rhine and let yourself be carried away by the current. You can also take one of the four ferries that connect Kleinbasel with Grossbasel and transport your passengers dry and comfortably across the river.

Basel is definitely worth a visit.

Looking forward to meet you.

Cheers.

Hello Myriam. Just wanted to say sorry I missed our German live lesson yesterday: I had not paid attention to the time and thought it was going to be at 12:00 PM instead of 12:00 AM.

Apologies and best of luck

Hi @MyriamZ

I am looking forward to meeting you shortly for our first lesson. I am a software engineer based in the UK. We have opened an office in Nürnberg, which I visit for one week each month. I am now (re-)learning German, with a goal of being able to communicate fluently with staff. I have completed most of the Duolingo German course, so I have reasonable written vocabulary and grammar. But my ability to listen and speak is very poor, which is what I wish to improve using Chatterbug.

Best wishes,
Jeremy
