Netflix cartoons to learn English

Hi everyone! I want to recommend my favorite children’s cartoons for learning English (or any other language).

Why children’s cartoons?

  • The characters talk slower and use simpler words.
  • The content is easier to understand.
  • Unlike live action dubs (doblajes), cartoon dubs sound great in any language because even the original language was voice acted.

Super Advanced
If your English is REALLY advanced, I would recommend live action movies over cartoons because they are more challenging. :wink:

I would also recommend “The Magic School Bus” for beginner/intermediate! They use vocabulary that can be used in everyday life and you learn specialized words for topics about the body, space, the environment etc.

It’s also my childhood favorite :smiley:

These are some brilliant recommendations @charhew! :star_struck:
I’m currently busy learning German and therefore make use of this strategy quite often.
By watching these super easy cartoons I get used to hearing ‘real life’ German (even though super high pitched at times), and I also get a better understanding of some of the basic uses of words that I might be unsure of.

I finished watching Avatar a few weeks ago and I think it’s one of the best series ever! So if there’s anyone that still hasn’t watched it, I can promise you that it’s going to be time well invested!
I should watch it again in other languages :grimacing:
