Rezeptideen fuer die Quarantaene

Hi peeps,

as Quarantine is at its fullest here in Mexico i spend quite some time at home with the little one and am always looking for new recipe inspiration for dinner or lunch time. All kinds of recipes are welcome as I like to experiment different dishes from different countries.
Thank you all and have a great weekend

Hand made “Maultaschen” is difficult to find in Latin America. But it’s tasty!

I love the recipes from here: https://www.pickuplimes.com/ and from here: https://www.avantgardevegan.com/. Their youtube channels are also really nice.

Hallo Larissa,

Thanks for opening the topic, that’s a great one  I am using this amazing (free) app http://www.kptncook.com daily. The recipes are easy and quick, often offering to use seasonal products and not too much meat. On top there is a integrated shopping list fonction, which makes it easy to go grocery shopping!

Happy cooking!

Hi @Lari1108 and everybody,
a student from Columbia told me about “patacones” :yum:
I found a recipe here on Chefkoch, but haven’t tried it yet

These patacones are absolutely delicious :relaxed:. One needs to keep in mind that in order to fry them and that they are crispy the plantain must be green and not yellow. They are quite easy to make and very yummy :relaxed:. Friendly reminder @Germanlady  although in German the country is with “u”: Kolumbien, in Spanish and English is with “o” Colombia. Columbia is in fact a city in South Carolina, US and that’s why we Colombians point out the difference :hugs:.

Uups sorry @27sp.sandra my mistake. It’s of course “Colombia” and not Columbia US
Thanks for the hint, that one should use green plantains and not the yellow ones :wave:

Hello I am also living in Mexico in Monterrey. I would recommend Texas style BBQ specifically RIBS. It basically is seasoned with salt and pepper. And you smoke it or cook it on low heat for up to 4 hours. Very delicious and tender.

We are not in quarantine anymore here in Berlin, but who knows what’s coming  :joy:
Anyway here’s a recipe from my Rumanian grandmother:

…actually I don’t know if she was really Rumanian since she was born in the USA, but she was part of the German minority in Rumania ( Transylvanian Saxons ).
