Spanish logic: irse por las ramas

Do you know someone who just can’t get to to the point and keeps talking and talking? They just seem to go on the branches and not concentrate on the tree trunk? What, does this sound weird to you? Well, in Spanish it’s the way we see it when someone “beats around the bush”:

Hi @stefanierambow! This expression is so graphic, I love it! In Spain we have another one which is even more specific, “irse por los cerros de Úbeda” -meaning something like “wander around the hills of Úbeda”. It refers to a region in Southern Spain famous for its natural beauties. It seems we’d rather enjoy nature than getting to the point! :laughing:
